Footlights Red curtainThe Whitehorse Centre is the municipality's premier arts and cultural centre and is owned and run by Whitehorse City Council. The Whitehorse Professional Theatre and Music Season showcases some of the best professional theatre from around the country. It is also a popular venue for many of the City of Whitehorse's performing arts groups.

The Whitehorse Centre presents a diverse program each year including plays, musicals, opera, ballet, shows for children, works by renowned Australian playwrights as well as new productions by emerging writers and performing arts companies. 

The Whitehorse Centre is located in parkland at the rear of the Council's Civic Centre at 397 Whitehorse Road, Nunawading (Melway ref: 48 G9). Car parking is available. If catching public transport, please note that the nearest train station is Nunawading Station, approximately seven minutes walk from the Whitehorse Centre.

Planning Your Visit:

The Whitehorse Centre is located in parkland at the rear of the Council's Civic Centre at 397 Whitehorse Road, Nunawading. 

Parking and Transport
Ample free parking is available at our doorstep with overflow parking often available at Walker Park, a sports oval immediately adjacent to the centre.
Public transport options include the 901 Smart Bus route and the nearest train station is Nunawading Station, which is a comfortable ten minute walk from the Whitehorse Centre.

Special Needs and Accessibility
We have four dedicated disabled car parking bays and six wheelchair spaces available within the auditorium. Our venue offers excellent accessibility for patrons with impaired mobility, as there are no steps to negotiate from the car park through until Row G of our theatre. A wireless Hearing Assistance system is also available throughout the theatre, with headphones or neck loops available from our kiosk free of charge.

Our foyer kiosk is open one hour prior to each performance and during interval breaks. A wide selection of hot and cold beverages, confectionary and snacks are available (cash only).  Hot food/drink or glassware of any kind, is not permitted in the theatre.
